About us
Our family moved from WI in December 2021 to Tea! In WI they had lots of options for indoor play spaces for children which was really great for those long winter months! Upon moving here we really saw a need for more options for families and daycares to take their kiddos toespecially in winter. This has been my dream for a long time, especially with knowing what kids and caregivers are looking for in a space. Our hope is that this grows the community and becomes a place that families enjoy coming to and connecting with others.
Jeremiah and Beth have been married for 5 years, and have two amazing full spirited daughters Adeline 3.5 and Avalee 1! Jeremiah works for Dockendorf Equipment and knows a lot about POS systems and IT background :) Beth was a nanny for 8 years and then ran an in-home daycare for 1 year; she also worked in a preschool. She knows what kids and families want in a play center. Beth volunteers at Central Church and is a part of MOPS of Prairie Hills and Moms club of Sioux Falls.
Our Mission
Our Heart: Tea Play Place is a unique combination of a coffee bar/eating area, and a state-of- the-art play area for children. The distinctive service Tea Play Place offers is a welcoming, child-friendly culture not typical of traditional cafes or play areas. It’s important to me to create a safe, fun environment for children to play, grow, and interact. I also want to provide parents and caregivers a space they can view as their own. While mainstream coffeehouses allow children, I have found that most traditional patrons are looking for a quiet place to work and have little patience or acceptance for small children and the messes and noises they bring. There’s not much than a parent or caregiver needing an escape or a change of scenery only to be greeted with hostility or aggression because their children are disturbing others. I’m aiming to create an environment of acceptance, compassion, and warmth. I will do whatever is required to make each patron comfortable, whether it be nursing supplies and extra diapers and wipes in the bathroom or organic snack choices for those expecting exceptional ingredients.
